April 4, 2020 | James and Corinne Goss - Augusta, Maine -- USA

My most sincere condolences to Carl’s family. I have known your Dad for many years now, as he was a wonderful friend to my father.
When, I was first diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2001, he and your Mom both helped me come to terms with having a chronic illness & offered emotional support. I will never forget their kindness and empathy.

Sending love and healing energy,
Jim and Corinne Goss

I would simply like to offer my sincere condolences to Barbara and Carl's family. It was my good fortune to get to know your loved one, Carl Barker through Skillin's Auto Group and I must say Carl had just about the greatest outlook on Life of anyone whom I have ever met. He was a happy and contented man who made others around him happy as well. Truly a wonderful human being. And inspiring. I will never forget him. May he rest in Peace. Carl left us all a little better off for having known him.

April 3, 2020 | Aryn - Buxton, ME -- USA

I work at Clippers Barber Shop where Carl has been a customer for many years. He was always smiling and giving us advice and talking about his love for old cars. Carl was a great man and will be missed by so many! His smile was contagious and you couldn’t help but smile yourself when he walked through the door.

April 3, 2020 | Edward Drasby, MD - Scarborough, Maine -- United States

Carl was the person who was instrumental in bringing me to Southern Maine to open a Parkinson Based practice. His first wife, Nancy, was a patient for more than 25 years.

Carl was a 'Life Force' unto himself. A tireless, devoted worker for those suffering from Parkinson's he created, from nothing, the Parkinson Community in the State of Maine. I will remember him in many ways, but above all, I will remember him a my friend, always there, always checking in, always making certain that the Care Giver was taking care of himself: A lesson we are now faced with across our troubled though resilient world.

God Bless Carl and bless all of us in our challenging time. --Ed Drasby

April 3, 2020 | Lillian (Scenna) Doughty - Scarborough, Maine -- United States

Carl Barker was a dear friend who touched the lives of many. He was a tireless advocate for his life's passions that included; his family, friends, spirituality, music, education, coaching, financial advice, restoration of antique vehicles and most of all for that he did for the Parkinson's Community of Maine.

I had a unique opportunity to work closely with Carl Barker while he was the Chapter President and founder of the American Parkinson Disease Association's Information & Referral Center at MaineHealth and a valued board member of the Maine Parkinson Society.

One of the many fond memories I have of Carl, was whenever he left my office he would smile and say, "Carry On."

Let these words from Carl resonate as we think of our own life's passions and - carry on.

We were blessed to have you in our lives and grateful for all that you gave.

All my Love, Lillian

April 2, 2020 | Susan Fine - Portland, ME -- United States

To the family and Barbara, Carl was a great person, with a wonderful sense of humor and smile. He lit up a room, when he entered. I am so sorry for our loss. Remember the good memories with him.

April 2, 2020 | Gary Curtis - Old Orchard Beach, Maine -- USA

My uncle, the renaissance man. My mom's kid brother who was the life of the party with his harmonica! I remember him taking us to a play he was in at the old Portland Players Theater on Preble St, WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION. He was so proud of his thespian achievements! Remember his wedding to Aunt Nancy, and parties at his home in Falmouth. Will miss his good humor and well wishes that he shared with us all.

April 2, 2020 | Alex Huppe - Castine, Maine -- Usa

I now drive the wonderful 1931 Franklin that Carl restored, and I think of him when I drive it. I enjoyed our chats at the Trek, where he is still remembered with great fondness.

April 2, 2020 | Harry and Cynthia Curtis - Dracut, MA -- United States

Such a remarkable man who will be missed. Always had a smile and joke about everything. I remember going to see new cars with him when I was a young boy. Great memories. Will definitely miss his harmonica playing. Rest in Peace Uncle Carl... We Love you !
