Nina was my friend who I loved dearly and greatly admired. She worked passionately to find innovative ways to help women survivors of domestic violence. She and I created the first Victim Impact Panel in the County.
She was feisty and a force for positive change. She worked hard for justice. She was funny and happy and was a joy to be around. The World will miss her and so will I.

A fond memory...Nina and I would sound the shofar together at the Alternative High Holiday services at CRC. She had amazing stamina and as I always finished the Tikiah Gedolah before her, I just let her sound wash over me, as it washed over the filled sanctuary, blessing us all...

I met Nina at our Sunday Sangha. She was one of the leaders and I so looked forward to her readings and talks. They were so thought provoking and led to such interesting discussions. We spent many Sunday mornings before or after meditation drinking coffee (me) and chai lattes (Nina) discussing politics, our lives, our children, and her grandchildren, whom she adored, and her beloved dog, Tessa. She loved to dance and tried her best to teach me swing dancing. We also spent time at classes at the Y trying to keep in shape. I loved spending time with Nina. She was forthright, funny, interesting, and a strong advocate for women. She contributed so much to improving the lives for victims of domestic abuse and to educating law students in this area of the law. Marci, Luna, and Milo should be proud of the legacy she has left behind. I miss you, Nina.

Sometimes a person comes into one’s life for a moment in time. I Will cherish that time. She spoke so often about Marcie, Jay her grandchildren, and her twin brother Alan. All of her professional accomplishments were beyond remarkable. Honoring and celebrating her life, her laughter, and her joy. Let us not forget about her stubbornness and tenacity. That’s what made her such a fighter for women’s rights and protection.
Her friendships were deep and meaningful. There loyalty and commitment unsurpassed. Letting go is hard, holding on is harder. Rest In Peace. May the sun shine on you and your family forever and ever.

Alan and Marcie, I’m so sorry to hear of Nina’s passing. I remember when I first met her she was such a vibrant woman. She was so happy to have you, Marcie going to college in Boston, as she did.
Alan, I met her at your birthday party and had to give her a special gift, because she was your other half. I’m sure she will be greatly missed by all!!
She is now without pain and resting comfortably in the arms of our Lord. 🙏🏼

Nina and I met as 15 year olds at summer camp in Georgia, we were quasi counselors, and then when camp was over back in Miami, we were in Taelon BBG. Friends and officers of course. When I read her Oral History, it was like listening to her explain her life. We were a product of our times, and she really made a special life for herself. Condolences to Alan, and the rest of the family, and may Nina's name be for a blessing.

Our deepest sympathy to Marcie and the family.
We loved Nina and appreciated her array of amazing traits. Starting with intensity and hard work. Among many many important contributions i will mention two. She wrote and strategized to make sure the Adult Abuse Act was a law in Missouri. It was an uphill battle and she never wavered.
A few years ago she taught a course on adult abuse at Washington U for both law students and social work students. It was a signature effort that combined her passion and knowledge and intellectual acuity. Nina so loved her family.
