I rented an apartment in the old farmhouse from Jo back in 1997 with my then 3 year old son. She was the kindest woman to us...a real gift as we were going through some difficult times. I loved to stop by her house to drop off the rent and visit with her while she sat on a little stool and Ed sat on the couch. Bless them both. Good memories of good people. Thanks for being such a wonderful woman!

Dear "E Leonard Allen" and family, Cousin Robert called me about your mom. What an adorable lady she was. I admired her spunk even with her body giving up on her. We shared many farm stories and laughed so hard at times our bellies ached. She is pain free now. What a blessing! If I can help with anything give me a call..319-8583. Remember the sweet memories.

My favorite place in all the world, was to be at Auntie Jo's. Her strength, physically, spiritually, and mentally have been a constant source of inspiration. I am an elementary teacher, probably because of her - watching her care for her parents, aunt, and others through end of year illness taught me empathy and the value of caring. My earliest memories are of Auntie Jo's tireless work on the farm, in the fields, in the barn, and in the house. I remember waking up and she was putting on her coat. "Where are you going?" I sleepily asked. "To the laundromat. I'll be back soon." I thought a moment and asked, "What time is it?" "It's 2:30." Oh, Auntie Jo. You will be so missed! You have always been and will continue to be a model of the kind of person I would want to strive to be like. Love you even more than the millions of cookies, doughnuts, and fudge that you so lovingly gave us all. <3
