She lived in Sanford, Maine until her parent’s divorce in 1975, when she moved to Wells with her mother, and finally to South Portland, when her mother married Richard (Dick) Dunlop. Dick later adopted Lisa, and supported her in all ways until his death in 1992.
Lisa attended South Portland Schools, receiving her diploma in 1988. She married Herbert P. Broy III, in 1990; they birthed their only child, Samantha, in 1991.
For Lisa, her varied jobs always revolved around the people she came into contact with, and she lovingly put her energy into those relationships. She worked in housekeeping at Osteopathic Hospital /Brighton, and then chose to stay at home with her daughter for several years, running a child care business from her apartment. Lisa and her mother Peggy became Reiki Master teachers and hypnotherapists, and together opened Reiki Partners, a Complementary Healing/Energy Practice in Scarborough, in 2001. In 2003, Lisa began employment at Target in South Portland, and quickly became part of the management team, remaining there until her illness in November, 2007. She was a team player, who brought cheerfulness and a positive fun-loving attitude to all her work situations.
Lisa was very intelligent, a complex thinker and an avid reader. She had a gift for simplifying and clarifying situations, so that they could be brought into focus for others.
Her adventurous nature was demonstrated through her travels to Florida, the Bahamas, Ecuador (rain forest and shamans) and her sky diving experience. She dreamed of traveling throughout the country and the world with her husband. Lisa also loved simple pleasures such as a ride and a visit to the Saco River rapids, Two Lights, Salem, Massachusetts, or the Kangamangas Highway. She and her husband spend each wedding anniversary in North Conway, New Hampshire. A picnic and a ride to the water made a perfect day for Lisa.
Lisa loved well; her focus was always on her daughter, Samantha – the center of her world. No matter how tired or stressed she was, she could always find time and energy to do something special with her. Lisa’s wish was to see Samantha through high school and launched in her life. She fought valiantly to survive toward that goal. Lisa has touched all our hearts and we will remember her joyous spirit and deep mutual love.

Born in Easton, PA on April 7, 1932, he was the only child of the late Douglass and Eva (Pegg) Bush. He attended Easton area schools, Mercersburg Academy, and Penn State University where he studied English and Journalism, two subjects that were used repeatedly in his adult life. He had an extraordinary gift for writing. Throughout his schooling, he was active in choir and glee club. He had a beautiful singing voice. His life-long passions were hunting and fishing. He made them his vocation as well as his avocation.
Mr. Bush began his professional career as assistant advertising manager with Abercrombie & Fitch in New York City. Later he worked in advertising and sales promotion with Remington Arms Company in Stratford, CT. For many years he was a manufacturer's representative selling fishing tackle from Maine to Virginia. In recent years, he enjoyed his retirement job driving the courtesy car for Casco Bay Ford of Yarmouth.
He was an active member of many organizations promoting hunting and fishing. His expertise and extensive knowledge of firearms made him a "go-to" person for gun history, restoration, and appraisal of firearms collections. His love of the outdoors and nature was learned from his father, who took him on hunting and fishing excursions in Jackman, ME when he was a teenager. He passed this same love and enthusiasm on to his own children and grandchildren.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge #795 of Easton, PA, and Lodge #23 of Freeport, ME, a former member of the United Methodist Church of Easton, PA, and a member of the Torch Club of Western ME.
An avid reader with a vast collection of books, he particularly enjoyed histories, biographies, and culinary
books. He was a gourmet cook. Once on a whim and with urging of friends, he entered his special blueberry pie in the Union ME Fair pie baking contest, and won a blue ribbon. He was an amazing joke teller, with spot-on timing, delivery, and endless inventory. He was not stingy with his wit, opinions, poems, and philosophies.
In 1959, during his Remington employment, he was on location when an ad agency crew was about to shoot commercial photos. He tried to help the male models with their shooting stance, while doing so, caught the attention of decision makers who ultimately made him their model. The result was his picture on a billboard in Grand Central Station, and throughout the New York City subway system. There were full page ads in the important national publications of the day; Life, Look, and Saturday Evening Post. For his 15 minutes of fame, he was paid $100.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Wendy (Morgan) Bush of North Yarmouth; a daughter Gayle A. Klinzman and her husband Stephen of Bloomingburg, NY; two sons, Douglas S. Margaret Brewster
SIDNEY -- Margaret Brewster of Sidney passed away on Jan. 10, 2008, of pulmonary failure, a consequence of post-polio syndrome.
She was always of service in the helping fields. She began her career as a teacher of mentally retarded, brain-damaged and emotionally disturbed children in Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and Maryland. Later she became the director of the Dimock Street Preschool in Boston, serving physically handicapped children.
When she moved to Maine, she was the director of Mid State United Cerebral Palsy in Augusta and then held director positions at Ken-a-Set Association for the Retarded; the Bureau of Mental Retardation; and the Maine Head Injury Foundation. Most recently she was the director of the state's Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, from which she retired in 1997.
A great light has winked out.
Margaret's hair was a flame, yet it was never as radiant as her heart. Her body had been a test and a torment since she contracted polio as a small child, but it could not begin to tether her spirit; it still can't. She had intuition and intelligence and insight and could always see in us our best selves, even when we could not. So although she was a writer and a musician and a gardener, and a hoot, and the most valuable friend most of us ever had, perhaps her most singular gift was this: In her presence we were somehow allowed to be our best selves, and for that we loved her fiercely. Our most fitting tribute is to love each other without restraint -- although Margaret might permit an exception for members of the current administration in Washington.
She was always her own greatest gift to us, abundantly given and wrapped with raucous laughter; but she also offered understanding, perception, encouragement ... and fresh vegetables. One often found her in her garden, and indeed that is where she was most able to find herself.
It is only appropriate to celebrate Margaret, our great blessing, in her garden, where a gathering will be held in late spring. If you wish to be notified, please leave contact information at FriendsofMargaret@gmail.com, or write to Friends of Margaret, P.O. Box 967, Brunswick, ME 04011.
Although Margaret never gave up, her body finally gave out. She is at rest now. But she's still checking in, so be nice.

Ruth worked as a fashion illustrator for Filene’s and Jordan Marsh in Boston. She worked for RH White’s in Worcester and Bradlee’s in Braintree. Ruth also did freelance work for pattern companies, painted portraits, and illustrated a book. Her distinguishing talent lay in her portrait work. R Ruth’s water color portrait work appeared in several text books and gallery booklets. Ruth and William raised four children, and divorced after 27 years of marriage. Ruth then moved to Marshfield Hills, Massachusetts where she lived until her retirement, when she moved to Brunswick, Maine.
